New Player Guide
Your first session on Joe's CnR, from login to the open world.
Welcome
Welcome to Joe's Cops and Robbers. You play as a civilian in Los Santos, earn money, take jobs, commit crimes, or join the police.
This guide covers your first join, the tutorials, and where to read next. Use the section list to jump around.
First Join & Identity
On your first visit you will see the Joe's Cops and Robbers login screen.
- New players Register a username (letters, numbers, underscore, or hyphen).
- Returning players see Welcome back! and can Login.
- Next comes the Character Creator. Pick Male or Female, then Continue.
New civilians who have not finished onboarding go into the civilian tutorial, not the open world yet. You start with $1,500 in your wallet.
Civilian Tutorial Walkthrough
The civilian tutorial is guided by Ortega with on-screen text. You will roughly do this:
- Meet him in the garage and get in his Asbo.
- Take a present (a pistol) from the trunk.
- Drive to Rob's Liquor and rob the store by aiming at the clerk.
- Pick up the money bag, hide in an alley until your wanted stars clear, then drop him at his apartment.
Along the way you learn the interaction menu (M), inventory, the weapon wheel, and how wanted stars and violent status work. A red arrow on the minimap means you are marked violent.
At the end you choose Start as Pacifist or Start as Civilian. You will see Tutorial Complete when you enter the open world.
Police Tutorial
The first time you enlist as police, training starts. You are told to report to Mission Row PD.
- At the station you get department starter weapons. Check your loadout.
- Follow the Training Objective blips and return to the spawn point when asked.
After that you can work patrol like any other officer.
Pacifist vs Civilian
After the tutorial you pick how you want to play. Pacifist mode is for players who want to explore, work legal jobs, and avoid PvP. Civilians can do that too, but they can also commit crimes and fight.
You can join or leave pacifism later from the interaction menu, with a few limits. See the Pacifist Mode article for details.
Where To Go Next
When you are in the open world, these wiki categories help most:
- Basics for money, inventory, shops, insurance, and death.
- Legal Jobs for Courier and Trucker.
- Crime for wanted stars, robberies, and the black market.
- Police if you want to enlist.
- Vehicles for dealerships, garages, and tuning.
